Divergent and convergent thinking aren’t opposites; they are partners in facilitating creative and critical thinking. Join Heather Clark, the Gifted Coordinator for the Licking County Educational Service Center to learn the defining features of divergent and convergent thinking, their strengths, weaknesses, and how to incorporate each type of thinking into classroom instruction.

In this 1-hour course you will explore:

  • How divergent and convergent thinking can work together to facilitate critical and creative thinking
  • How to adapt classroom activities to encourage creative and critical thinking

    I really like this course because it gives you example for your students to be open minded. When I was doing the divergent thinking activity, and try to use pac man in different ways, I was thinking of ways I could incorporate that in my classroom as a brain break.
