Description

In days past, employers were impressed by graduates who had impressive stores of knowledge. But as the Internet and search engines have leveled the playing field, students need to focus on another set of skills. Do you know the top skills employers will be seeking from your students? Andi McNair has made it easy to make meaningful use of technology to teach your gifted students marketable lifelong skills.

In this course, you will learn to:

  • Focus on the skills employers want from grads
  • Use technology in innovative ways
  • Avoid common time-wasting uses of technology
  • Use apps and websites that engage gifted minds

This course is aligned with 2016 ODE Teacher Competencies a, b, c, f, g and NAGC Teacher Preparation Standards 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 5.2. 

Ms. McNair currently teaches Gifted and Talented students at a small rural school at Bosqueville ISD in Texas. She has been a teacher for over a decade, teaching 4th/5th grade math before moving into gifted education. As a parent of gifted children, she is a strong advocate for gifted education. Ms. McNair regularly speaks at TAGT (Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented) and other conferences, particularly sharing her passion for innovative education. Andi is married to her high school sweetheart. They have three children and live in Waco, TX.
