In this live virtual event, Lisa Van Gemert, M.Ed.T, will dive deeper into understanding and conquering the dreaded “B” word. Building upon the theory covered in the online course Beyond Boredom – Understanding and Conquering the “B” Word, Lisa will cover what this looks like in the classroom, and how to strike the perfect balance between structure and change to overcome boredom.
The dates of the virtual meeting are Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at 4:00 PM Central and again on May 4th at 7:00 PM Central. If you cannot attend either of these events, don’t worry! The meetings will be recorded and made available in this library by May 31st.

She is an expert consultant to television shows including Lifetime’s “Child Genius,” and a writer of award-winning lesson plans. Lisa has numerous published articles on social psychology and pedagogy and the book, Perfectionism: A Practical Guide to Managing Never Good Enough.
A former teacher, school administrator, and Youth & Education Ambassador for Mensa, Lisa shares resources for educators and parents on her website, giftedguru.com. She is a co-founder along with Ian Byrd of the Gifted Guild, a professional community for educators of the gifted. Lisa and her husband Steve are the parents of three sons and live in Arlington, Texas.
