Lisa Van Gemert, award-winning educational consultant, guides teachers through an in-depth look at how to bring creative instruction into their classrooms. This six-hour course, “Creativity and Instructional Strategies,” dives deep into what creativity is and how to use it in the classroom.
In this course educators will learn about:
- How creativity affects a student’s learning

I really appreciate the teachers’ wisdom and willingness to share her knowledge with all of us. However, the GT strategies offered in these videos are directed to a broad audience. I miss having a course where we learn how to apply these GT strategies specifically to students who are learning Spanish, with activities and examples only in Spanish (or any other area of study for that matter). The main advantage of doing this is saving time. Teachers don’t have a lot of time to learn the various strategies and then apply them to the specific area they are teaching.

This course was alright, some of the information felt unnecessary and the speaker did not sound confident in the information given; she constantly sounded lost and all over the place. Additionally, the Reflective Questions, half the time did not make sense.
Also, I did not agree with what was said in one of the units “4.6.2. Examples of Teacher Humor,” where Lisa Van Gemert stated “so that I grade 5 good ones, 5 bad ones, 5 good ones….Otherwise, you know I would want to slit my wrists.” I found this comment to be very unprofessional and can be viewed as triggering to some. Please have that video evaluated and edited. Thank you.
Marcela – KILLEEN ISD (verified owner) –

Laura – CARROLL ISD (verified owner) –

Danielle – EDCOUCH-ELSA ISD (verified owner) –
I think the activities she has to offer are great, but her voice is very monotone. One of her first points was to change our voice and make it interesting, which she failed to do. She also speaks very slow. An option to have the sound 1x, 1.5x or 2x faster would be great.
Soumini – HPS – HOUSTON SOUTH/WEST (verified owner) –

I love the activities that Lisa introduced here. The use of the cube comes in handy in facilitating classroom discussions because a lot of times students need conversation starters.
