This course is aligned with Texas AI awareness training requirements and has been certified by the Texas Cyber Command (TXCC)  under Texas law for the period of September 1st, 2026 to August 31st, 2027.

Description

How can school leaders help protect their students, staff, and district from growing cybersecurity threats? Cybersecurity for Educators provides practical, accessible guidance to help educators understand their role in protecting sensitive information and maintaining secure digital environments. In this 1-hour course, participants explore common cyber threats, including phishing, malware, business email compromise, and social engineering, while learning practical strategies for secure passwords, data storage, device use, remote work, and artificial intelligence. 

The course also addresses cybersecurity incident response, Texas legal requirements, and the shared responsibility every employee has in protecting district systems and information. The course is approved by the Texas Department of Information Resources Certified Cybersecurity Training Program.

  • Best practices for secure devices, passwords, and data 
  • How to respond to and report cybersecurity concerns
