In this in-depth, 6-hour course, Joyce Juntune, Ph.D., delves deeply into essential strategies for developing creative thinking in the classroom. She believes that creative thinking is an essential component leading to the long-term success of gifted students educationally, personally, and professionally. Creative thinking has long been considered the highest form of mental functioning. Dr. Juntune explains how idea generation is the foundation of creative thinking, and she provides applicable tools you can use to help students generate new ideas.

A lot of these ideas are super awesome, but I don’t know practical ways of incorporating it into the HQIM curriculum. The district curriculum demands a fast pace, and it feels like we are so busy just trying to keep up with the next text, that we don’t have any time for anything additional for me to add in. We don’t even have grammar in the curriculum, so the identifying parts of speech activity would be impossible for me. The only real area I could apply this to would be warm ups, checks for understanding, and to my Intervention classes.
