Description
People have varying ideas of what grouping is, and many people don’t view it in a positive light. According to Karen Rumley, grouping is simply a way to develop a classroom culture of learning together by respecting differences.
In this course, Ms. Rumley will help you take a closer look at grouping by inviting you to do the following:
- Explore various approaches to grouping and task assignment to facilitate differentiation via classroom and management structures.
- Begin developing a collection of research that supports appropriate grouping strategies as beneficial to different types of learners, including gifted and advanced students.
- Learn how to appropriately use grouping strategies to benefit all learners, including gifted and advanced students.
This course meets NAGC Teacher Preparation Standard 3.2 and ODE Competencies a, b, c, and d.
