Excellent, especially in younger grades where ADHD is a misdiagnosis of many children through teachers.

  28. mitchell – CARROLLTON-FARMERS BRANCH ISD (verified owner)

I appreciate the need to differentiate between ADHD and Giftedness, but I do not think it discusses often enough the problematic lack of diagnoses swinging the other way…Giftedness that overshadows actual occurrence of ADHD. It is something I’ve learned I struggled with growing up, I’ve now met many others who also grew up with it, and that lacking diagnoses deeply impacted my self-esteem and achievement. I am concerned that a lesson focused on how giftedness is mistaken for ADHD might actually impair an educator’s ability to address ADHD symptoms in a gifted child because they’ve received this lesson and walk away with this impression.
