To group or not to group? That is a question faced each day by educators as administrators continue to encourage small group learning in the classroom. Lisa Van Gemert, M.Ed.T., discusses whether small groups are always necessary and, when they are used, how to effectively group students and how to support the group process.

    Please note that the correct answer for the last question about a CASUAL cluster was not listed. I chose “none of the above” and that answer was marked incorrect. However, in the presentation, a cluster ( definition of a cluster was what was considered correct) is different from a CASUAL cluster. According to the presentation, a casual cluster is when (for ex.) I take 2 GT students from my class and let them work with a few GT from another class. That answer was not provided- and that is what a CASUAL cluster is according to this presentation.
