  41. ARACELI – HARMONY SCIENCE ACAD (EL PASO) (verified owner)

The core information is good. However, the presenter overextends the presentation and fills it with unnecessary detail or too many examples. She also is not careful with some topics and what she says is not precise language….”to be diagnose with autism you need normal IQ”. This label is dated and only for high functioning autism is normal IQ required. Also when she spoke about IQ and social economic status …her presentation and words echoed past racists presentations that IQ was based on race or culture…yet the message was that IQ is influenced. She needs to use different language to describe the unequal and discriminatory school practices and the broader configurations of power, politics, and wealth of schools and society.

  42. Traci – LA GRANGE ISD (verified owner)

It was very interesting and there are so many more aspects to gifted kids than I ever know- even being someone who was in a GT program in elementary school. Very informative and I’m walking away with resources for ALL kids also!
