Description

Every student is unique, but gifted students from underrepresented populations often require special considerations. What factors do you need to be aware of, and how can you meet needs specific to students with diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds?

In this 3-hour course, learn the answers to these questions, and empower your underrepresented students to use the three ABCs of self-regulation:
  • Affect (drive, motivation, directing attention)
  • Behavior (actions, communication styles and skills)
  • Cognition (metaphysical, infracognitive and metacongitive thinking skills)

  37. Sandra – UNITED ISD (verified owner)

It was enlightening to see how underrepresented students are underrepresented from the beginning. They are facing challenges that don’t allow them to be recognized or be successful in gt programs. It was interesting to learn about the different populations that Dr. Cash has worked with to come up with the critical skills that will help them be successful. It was difficult to follow the presentation at times because he would seemingly go off topic, but later you could see the connection and relevance to the skills he was explaining. It didn’t help that his live audience was visible and at times in the way of seeing him.
